Like our parent organization, EAA Chapter 242 represents and appeals
to all sport and recreational aviation interests, including general aviation,
vintage aircraft, ultralights, aerobatics, warbirds, power hang gliders, racing
and rotor wing enthusiasts. Palmetto Sport Aviation, EAA Chapter 242, is
one of over 1000 chapters (and more than 170,000 members) in many countries
around the world. Our chapter was chartered in 1965 and has been growing
steadily ever since. Our present membership exceeds 300, making us one of
the largest Chapters in EAA. Contact!, our newsletter, has
received the top EAA award 4 times since 1990, with several seconds and thirds
as well.
Chapter 242 is fortunate to have worlds of
talent among our members. There are engineers, designers, and mechanics.
Members are experienced in metal and woodworking, welding, fabric, and
painting. Assistance is available for the asking.
A chapter is only as good as its members; your
support is vital to the continued success of Chapter 242. Please complete
the membership application and forward your
dues NOW so we can continue to grow and thrive. Just remember, you
don’t have to be a pilot or a builder to be a member of EAA, you just have to
love aviation!
Our Chapter is based at Columbia-Owens
